Hey Guys! Hope you all had an awesome holiday. I’m looking forward to seeing you all and catching up about your holidays! Hopefully you got out and about and didn’t stay inside on Playstation too much!
Monday 9th is our first week back! We’re having a Tournament night so it should be a bit of relaxing fun to get back into the swing of things. Remember to head across to the Programme & Events page to see what’s coming up this term!
Hope you like the new site! See you all Monday!

Welcome back! Its finally here, the start of a new year for everyone. I hope that you enjoyed your holiday and will be back into the swing of things for 2009.
I would like to invite you to join with us on Monday 9th February as we kick the year off with a Tournament night at the church. This will run from the normal times, from 7pm to 9pm. Just a reminder with the new building to please park your car and come and collect your son from the foyer.
This year we have many things planned that will hopefully give the boys experiences they wouldn’t otherwise get. We are pushing for more outdoor activities, over night camps in the weekends and various bigger camps such as Queens Birthday and Labour Weekend. We see the return of the Snow Weekend, with the possibility of it being a whole week – depending on how much the boys want to raise!
We also see the return of a Junior Tramp into the Orongorongo’s, which will be on the weekend of 7-8 March. This is a great event for newcomers to the Company Section and allows you to get to meet the leaders.
Many of you will have noticed the difference in the website. I’ve been busy over the holidays and hopefully have come up with something that is both appealing to the guys, but also functional for the parents. I will keep this site running and up to date as much as possible. If you need to know anything, the website can be your first port of call if you need! www.10thwellington.bb.org.nz
Money. Always a difficult subject to raise. Subs for this year are staying at $70.00. We would like this to be paid before Week 2 of Term 2, which is Monday 4th May, 2009.
This year we see the return of Gary Kenny who is returning in a leadership capacity. However, at the end of 2008, it was a sad moment to say goodbye to Tim Clark who has been an awesome leader in this Company for many years.
And with that, 2009 comes knocking on our door. We look forward to seeing you all back and ready for what will be an exciting year.
Many Thanks,
Al Ingham

Thank you to all of you who turned up to this years Church parade. Our presence was certainly felt in the church and there were many positive comments to come out of it.
Congratulations to the drumming boys who really made an awesome effort to kick some life into the service. Very impressive and I’m sure left an impact with the congregation. Well done!

So another term bites the dust. With so many exciting events it is difficult to sum up succinctly. We ran our second successful term of options which worked really well, with boys participating in Cooking, Web Design and Clock making. We also had our first Squad Night of the year.
In term 3 there have been a select number of boys who have been busy for the good part of 2 months fund-raising for a weekend away in the snow. This was an extremely cool event (excuse the pun!) and it was an excellent weekend away in the snow. Some in the snow more than others! Photos are now on the website.
Term 4 is now here. There is a lot going on.
Church Parade October 19
This event is essentially compulsory for all boys. If you are unable to make it for any reason, you must speak with me first. Our small numbers means that we need everybody on board in order to make the largest impact.
Boys will be involved with Drumming from Term 2, as well as some short Dramas prepared early in the term.
This will be our first Church Parade in the new church building, which is on High Street across the road from St. Andrews Ave.
If you are involved with any activity (ie. Drama or Drumming etc…) please turn up no later than 9am. If you are not involved, you will be required to be in the downstairs foyer from 9:40 onwards. And yes, you are required to wear uniform.
Labour Weekend Camp October 25, 26, 27
This year we are getting the boys to organise this camp! What a great idea! It will be held on Labour Weekend, at Camp Wainui. The rest is up to the boys! Notices and permission forms to follow!
New Building November 3
The time has finally arrived. We must be moved out of the old building on Manuka Ave by November 7. Unfortunately, we can’t move into the new building until November 1. This leaves us one Monday night to do this. As a “Right of Passage” ceremony of sorts, we will be holding a bench run, going from the old building to the new building on November 3.
End of Year Prizegiving Date & Location to be Confirmed
This is coming up in December. Notices to follow.
And with that, I’m out of room on the page! On behalf of the leaders at 10th
Al Ingham, LIC Company Section.
