Term 2, 2008
{ April 16th, 2008 }
The first term has flown by and kicked the year off to a great start with a whole bunch of activities that warranted photos to be placed on the website. There was the Tree Hugging, the Irish Olympics and the Photo Rally.
The second term awaits us, and with that comes what Boy’s Brigade is all about… The badges.
This year we are moving into a new system that has been put in place by Boy’s Brigade New Zealand. It is an exciting change in organization, but it probably won’t look much different to how we run things or that activities we offer.
We are going to trial something we used to do in the past, and that is to offer the guys options for what they do for the term. Whilst there will be limits as to class sizes, there will be a certain amount of flexibility to try and incorporate everyones wants and desires.
We are also planning to have a Queen’s Birthday Weekend Camp, which will run from Saturday 31 May to Monday 2 June. This fits into the middle of our term, and so would encourage every boy to attend this camp. More details will be announced as they are finalised. The registration forms and permission slips are out now, so if you don’t have one ask your son where it is!!!
Speaking of registration forms, it is that time of year where I have to start prompting people to get their fees in for this year. The cutt off date is 12 May, 2008, which is second week back this term. If you could please get this in on time it will assist us in paying registration fees to Boy’s Brigade New Zealand for this year. Thank you to thos ehwo have got those in to me early, it has cetainly helped with the organising of things.
I will also be sending out Registration forms for 10th Wellington Boy’s Brigade which will cover the basic necessities of running any Company (Permission to run activities, Website photo clearance, Address and Phone number confirmations etc…)
And with that, I think that is all I have to say. I know I’m personally looking forward to this term, because I think that what we have planned and the way we are doing it is something that will be fun and exciting for all.
