2007 is here! And with it comes a new year for Boy’s Brigade.

The end of year prizegiving 2006 saw a change of plan, but an equally fun time had by all, with the focus on the Spit Roast shared dinner which was enjoyed by all.

Our first week back this year is for Monday 12th February, meeting at Lower Hutt Baptist Church at the normal time of 7pm. Our first term will be very heavily based on outdoor activities as usual to make the most use of the summer sunlight hours.

This year, we are having to put our subs up dramatically. This is because Boy’s Brigade New Zealand has put the registration fee for boys up to $45.00. There will also be the usual amount going towards 10th Wellington for the every week runnings of this company so that we can enjoy extra activities and resources. This means that our subs for this year have gone up to $70.00. We feel this is reasonable as it is for the entire year, and other activities such as sports teams and music lessons charge as much, if not more.

If there are any issues regarding payment or you wish to pay in installments, we encourage you to talk to Gary Kenny who is taking care of our accounts again this year.

We are also looking at introducing a new uniform for 10th Wellington. We hope for it to be a lot smarter then the polo shirts, yet comfortable for the boys in both summer and winter. We are currently in the process of sourcing providers for the shirts and will be keeping you informed of this as we come to a decision for the final uniform.

We have also been working on a new website, which went live in mid January. Much of the information and layout is the same, but with a different look and a different system looking after it. This will allow for the opportunities for boys to manage the site in the future.

So we look forward to seeing you all again for the start of 2007 with a great many fun activties planned in anticipation for the enthusiasm and commitment of 2006 to continue.
