Term 4, 2006

{ October 14th, 2006 }

Firstly can I say a big THANK YOU to all families who showed their faces at this years church parade. The huge turn out was a special treat for the church and hopefully made them realise what a vital ministry Boy’s Brigade is! We also welcome into our family Kevin Wharfe, who although had been filling the shoes of Company Chaplin for most of the year, has now been officially instated by the church. We also look forward to see the development of our three new NCO’s, Lance Corporal Alistair Stewart, Lance Corporal Robert Baker and Corporal Robert Stewart.

As the world turns around and the sun stays in the sky longer, Term 4 is a great opportunity for us to get outside and run around. This term we have a huge range of activities staged around Lower Hutt, from Games in the Park, to a trek up Te Whiti fire break and a Father & Son night filled with competition.

Early on in the term, all focus turns towards the annual Labour Weekend Camp! It runs from Saturday 21 through to Monday 23 of October at Camp Wainui. We would encourage every boy to attend this excellent event. We will be doing a range of out door activities and get to experience camping conditions as well as a great opportunity to chill out and relax together. A notice outlining the camp will be sent out.
Our end of year prizegiving will be held on the 9th of December at Camp Wainui. There will be our new and firing spit roast to stand in awe at and sports on the field to have a last hit out for the year. We invite all families to attend, young and old and celebrate another successful year in the life of 10th Wellington Boy’s Brigade.
