Term 3, 2006

{ August 14th, 2006 }

Term 2 has been a quiet one. While the winter months have settled in, the extra activities outside of BB have somewhat dried up.

However, we did manage to get out for a Junior Tramp, which was well enjoyed by all. From a flooded river, to the crossings, and the fun of spotlight and possum hunting, there were many memories I’m sure will be around for a while.

Over the holidays we had 2 boys attend the National Leadership Development Course (NLDC), both at Stage 1 and Stage 2 levels. From what I’ve heard so far it was an excellent time, and we look forward with anticipation at hearing the stories of the experience and seeing the fruits of the course in action at our own Comapny!

Term 3 begins, and we are looking at more badge work, with variations of Camping, Bone Carving, and making a Spit Roast.

Later on in the term will be our first Church Parade for the year, in which all boys are expected to be there, regardless of what church you would otherwise attend. The boys will be working towards that, with short dramas and playing in the worship team for that morning.

For those with outstanding registration fees, please get those in. They are now well past due, and our second payment to BBNZ is coming up soon.

Term 2 was a great term. With the level of enthusasim I have for the classes I am taking and I’m sure the other leaders have aswell; it should make for an even better term in Term 3.
